Spring is in the air. For this month’s pose breakdown we have Standing Hip Circles. Let’s begin with some music. Standing in Mountain Pose with feet slightly wider than hips distance apart. Bend the knees and start tapping our toes. Begin by circling the torso and hips to the right. Make a full wide circle. Inhaling as the buttocks moves back and exhaling as the they come forward. Let’s reverse the direction when we are ready. Enjoy the freedom of the hips.
Stretches and Strengthens: gluteus, hamstrings, quadriceps, pelvic floor muscles, lower back, and abdominal muscles.
Stress Relief: Connecting breath and movement. Helps to improve the circulation of the blood in the body with more oxygen flowing into the blood and energizing.
The world would be a better place if we all did hip circles every day!
